About Us

Under the charter issued in 1957 by the AFL-CIO,
the people of the labor unions in Tarrant County,
as a subordinate unit of the American Federation
of Labor and the Congress of Industrial
Organization, banded together in the Tarrant
County Central Labor Council-AFL-CIO.

The objectives of the Council shall be to secure
united action of all branches of organized labor
affiliated with the AFL-CIO within its jurisdiction
and through united action to protect, maintain and
advance the interest of all working people in its
territory, to extend unionism on the basis that both
craft and industrial organizations are necessary
and appropriate, to secure and enforce legislation
in the interest of the working people and to
increase public understanding of the labor
